[ShopeePay] Basics of DuitNow QR for Merchants

1. What is DuitNow QR and how is it different from the existing ShopeePay QR?
DuitNow QR is the national standard QR code established by PayNet. This means merchants are only required to display one DuitNow QR code to receive payments from ShopeePay e-Wallet and any participating Banks and e-Wallets.
2. How will DuitNow QR benefit my business?
- QR payments help you to manage your sales and financial activities efficiently as you will receive your settlement reports daily
- QR payments ensure that the contact between your staff and your customers is minimised, hence keeping everyone as safe as possible during this pandemic
- QR payments are easy and affordable with zero upfront costs or fixed fees. Transaction fees are also cheaper than the conventional credit card charges.
3. How do I start receiving payments with DuitNow QR?
To start receiving payments using the DuitNow QR code, the merchants shall:
- Display the DuitNow QR Code at their payment counter
- The customer scans the DuitNow QR Code to pay
- Receive an in-app notification upon successful payment
4. What are on-us and off-us transactions?
On-us transactions are made between ShopeePay customers and merchants acquired by ShopeePay.
Off-us transactions are made between:
- ShopeePay customers and merchants acquired by other banks/non-bank
- Other bank/non-bank customers and merchants acquired by ShopeePay
5. Will there be additional charges for DuitNow QR transactions?
Merchants will be subjected to the same MDR. There will be no additional charges for merchants to accept the DuitNow QR payment.
6. Can I change or modify the design of the DuitNow QR to align with my store design?
You are not allowed to change or modify the DuitNow QR code. ShopeePay reserves the right to suspend or terminate business relations if the merchant violates or fails to comply with ShopeePay Merchant's Terms of Service.
7. What should I do if the customer or I have accidentally made a wrong DuitNow QR transaction?
If the customer is still at your premises, you may settle the discrepancies with the customer directly. You may nullify the incorrect payment and ask the customer to make a new payment.
